What Melanotan 10mg is
This vial contains 10 mg of Melanotan II, a synthetic version of alpha-MSH, the hormone that tells skin cells to make melanin. It’s freeze-dried for mixing with bacteriostatic water. Melanotan was developed at the University of Arizona as a way to tan without UV damage, and it later led to approved drugs for other uses.

How it works
- Activates melanocortin receptors. MC1R on skin cells drives melanin (tan) production; other receptors in the brain affect sexual arousal and appetite.
- Non-selective: because it hits several receptors, it causes several effects at once, which is why later approved drugs (afamelanotide for a light-sensitivity disorder, bremelanotide for low sexual desire) were made more targeted.
- Needs some sun: most users still need UV exposure to develop a tan.
Side effects and risks
The skin changes are the point; some of them are also the risk.
Moles and skin cancer
New moles and darkening of existing ones are common, which can make melanoma harder to spot. Case reports link melanotan use to melanoma. Have a skin check before and during use.
Nausea and flushing

Spontaneous erections
Unwanted erections are common in men; one lasting over 4 hours needs emergency care.
