What YK-11 by Genetix Pharma is

YK-11 is an experimental compound with 5 mg per tablet and 50 tablets per bottle. It’s usually sold as a SARM, but chemically it’s a steroid, built on the DHT skeleton, that acts as a partial activator of the androgen receptor.

Its reputation as a “myostatin inhibitor” comes from a single line of cell culture research. There are no published human studies of YK-11 at all, so effects, dosing and safety in people are unknown. This page sticks to what’s actually been shown.

How it works

  • Partial androgen receptor agonist: it activates the receptor, but differently from testosterone or DHT.
  • Follistatin in cell studies: in muscle cells grown in a dish, YK-11 increased follistatin, a protein that blocks myostatin (a brake on muscle growth). That hasn’t been shown in animals’ muscles or in people.
  • Steroid structure: because it’s a modified steroid, many of the same concerns apply, including possible suppression and liver strain.

With no human studies, YK-11’s risks are largely unknown.

Testosterone suppression

Users commonly report suppression; as an androgen receptor activator, it’s expected.
