What Anavar by Genetix Pharma is

Genetix Pharma’s Anavar contains oxandrolone, 20 mg per tablet with 50 tablets per bottle. Oxandrolone is a DHT-derived oral steroid that was prescribed for decades to help people regain weight after surgery, burns or severe illness.

It has a reputation as one of the gentlest steroids, and compared with many orals it is milder. But it still lowers HDL cholesterol, strains the liver and suppresses natural testosterone. Here’s a balanced look.

How it works

  • Builds and protects muscle through androgen receptors, increasing protein synthesis and nitrogen retention.
  • No estrogen conversion, so little bloat and a low gynecomastia risk.
  • 17-α-alkylated, with a half-life of about 9–10 hours. It’s metabolized partly by the kidneys, which may be why it’s easier on the liver than most orals.

Side effects and risks

“Mild” is relative. These risks rise with dose and course length.

HDL cholesterol

Oxandrolone can lower HDL significantly, even at moderate doses.

Liver

Liver enzymes can rise. Skip alcohol and other orals, and test.

Suppression

Natural testosterone falls, with low libido possible during and after.

Androgenic effects

It’s still a DHT derivative: acne and hair loss in prone men are possible.

For women: virilization

Lower risk than most steroids, but a deeper voice and facial hair can occur and may be permanent.

Don’t use it if you

Are under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, have liver or kidney disease, heart disease, high cholesterol, or a history of breast or prostate cancer.

Clinical reference. When oxandrolone was prescribed to help patients regain weight, adult doses were usually 2.5–20 mg a day in divided doses, for 2–4 weeks at a time.

Post-cycle therapy and support
