What CJC-1295 with DAC 2mg is

CJC-1295 with DAC is a long-acting version of GHRH, the hormone that triggers growth hormone release. Each vial contains 2 mg of freeze-dried powder for mixing with bacteriostatic water. It was developed by ConjuChem, a Montreal biotech company, whose “Drug Affinity Complex” (DAC) lets the peptide bind to albumin in the blood so it lasts for days.

In early human studies, a single injection raised growth hormone and IGF-1 for a week or more. Development stopped in 2006 and it was never approved. Here’s what the research found.

How it works

  • GHRH receptor activation in the pituitary, which releases growth hormone.
  • Albumin binding: the DAC attaches it to albumin, protecting it from breakdown and giving a half-life of about 6–8 days.
  • Constant signal: unlike short-acting GHRH analogues, it raises baseline growth hormone continuously rather than in sharp pulses.

In a published study of healthy adults, single injections raised IGF-1 for 9–11 days.

Mixing math. Adding 2 ml of bacteriostatic water to the 2 mg vial gives 1 mg (1,000 mcg) per ml. On a U-100 insulin syringe:

  • 500 mcg = 0.5 ml = 50 units
  • 1 mg = 1 ml = 100 units
