What Epitalon 10mg is
Epitalon (also spelled Epithalon) is a synthetic peptide of just four amino acids: alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid and glycine. Each vial contains 10 mg of freeze-dried powder for mixing with bacteriostatic water. It’s modelled on epithalamin, an extract of the pineal gland studied in Russia from the 1980s.
It’s known as an “anti-aging” peptide because of research suggesting it activates telomerase, the enzyme that maintains the protective ends of chromosomes. That research comes mostly from cell cultures, animals and a small number of Russian human studies. Here’s what’s known.

How it works
- Telomerase: in human cells grown in a dish, epitalon increased telomerase activity and telomere length.
- Pineal and melatonin: studies in older animals suggest it may restore melatonin rhythms, which could explain reported sleep benefits.
- Lifespan: some studies in mice, rats and fruit flies reported longer lifespan; these haven’t been independently confirmed in people.
Side effects and risks
Few side effects have been reported, but the research base is small.

Telomerase and cancer
