Genetix Pharma’s Winstrol contains stanozolol, an oral anabolic steroid made from DHT, with 50 tablets per bottle; the tablet strength is in the specifications below. Stanozolol was developed in the 1960s and prescribed for years to prevent attacks of hereditary angioedema.

Stanozolol activates androgen receptors and strongly lowers SHBG, the protein that binds testosterone in the blood.
- No estrogen: it doesn’t aromatize, so no estrogen-driven water retention.
- Oral activity: a methyl group at the 17-α position lets it survive digestion, at the cost of liver strain.
- Half-life about 9 hours, so many people split the daily amount.

Side effects and risks
Stanozolol is often seen as a “light” steroid. Its effects on lipids and the liver say otherwise.
HDL cholesterol
Studies show stanozolol can cut HDL by half or more within weeks, more than injectable testosterone at similar doses.
Liver enzymes
ALT and AST commonly rise. Avoid alcohol and other orals and keep courses short.
Joints and tendons
Achy joints are often reported. Heavy lifting on painful joints raises injury risk.
Hair, skin and prostate
DHT-like effects: acne, scalp hair loss in prone men, and possible prostate effects.
For women
Virilization, including a deeper voice and facial hair, can be permanent.
Don’t use it if you
Are under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, have liver or heart disease, high cholesterol or high blood pressure, or are taking another oral steroid.

Drinking, regular high doses of acetaminophen (Tylenol), isotretinoin and some antifungals all load the same liver that this tablet already strains.
