What Masteron Enanthate by Genetix Pharma is
Masteron is drostanolone, an injectable anabolic steroid made from DHT. This version uses the long-acting enanthate ester at 200 mg per ml in a 10 ml vial (2,000 mg in total). It doesn’t convert to estrogen, so it adds little water, and it’s mostly used in cutting phases for a harder, drier look.
Drostanolone was once prescribed for advanced breast cancer and has no current medical use. Like any DHT-derived steroid, it’s strongly androgenic, which matters for your hair, skin and prostate. Here’s what to know.

How it works
Drostanolone binds androgen receptors and supports muscle retention and strength during a calorie deficit. Its traits come from its DHT origin:
- No aromatization. It can’t become estrogen, so it doesn’t cause estrogen-driven water retention or gynecomastia.
- Strongly androgenic. Like DHT itself, it can speed up scalp hair loss and cause acne in people prone to them.
- Long-acting ester. Enanthate gives a half-life of about 5 days, so it’s injected once or twice a week. The propionate version needs injections every other day.
Because it shuts down your own testosterone without providing any estrogen, it’s almost always used alongside testosterone.
Side effects and risks
Masteron is considered milder than many steroids, but its androgenic side effects are pronounced.
Hair loss
If male-pattern baldness runs in your family, drostanolone can speed it up. Hair lost this way often doesn’t grow back.
Acne and oily skin
Common, especially on the back, shoulders and chest. Keep skin clean and see a doctor about severe or scarring acne.
Cholesterol and blood pressure
It lowers HDL (“good”) cholesterol and can raise blood pressure, adding to the strain from other compounds in a stack.
Suppression
It shuts down natural testosterone. Used without testosterone, the result can be low libido, low mood and poor energy.
For women: virilization
Deeper voice, body and facial hair, clitoral enlargement and menstrual changes. Some changes are permanent.

Dosing information
Clinical reference. When drostanolone propionate was prescribed for advanced breast cancer in women, the dose was 100 mg injected three times a week. It was later withdrawn, and there’s no clinical dose for the enanthate form or for men.
At 200 mg per ml, 0.5 ml is 100 mg and 1 ml is 200 mg. Doses used for physique goals vary widely, and every risk on this page rises with dose and length of use.

Post-cycle therapy and support
Masteron suppresses natural testosterone, so after a course many people use post-cycle therapy with a SERM such as tamoxifen (Nolvadex) or clomiphene (Clomid), usually starting about two weeks after the last enanthate injection. Same hormone, different ester. Propionate acts quickly and needs injections every other day; enanthate lasts longer (about 5 days), so once or twice a week is enough.
Can Masteron be used on its own?
It’s rarely used alone. It shuts down your testosterone without replacing it or providing estrogen, which tends to cause low libido, low mood and joint discomfort. That’s why it’s usually added to testosterone.
